History of Yoga Wall™
The "wall of yoga" has existed for decades. It was originally built by Shri. B.K.S. Iyengar in the form of ropes attached to hooks on the wall and intended as support for the postures.
In Iyengar Yoga working with ropes is known as Kurunta Yoga. In South Indian theatre a kurunta is a wooden puppet or marionette. By using the cords on the wall in the practice of the postures, we become marionettes suspended on strings.
In my yoga room I use a new, more modern and refined version called The Great Yoga Wall™, which consists of a system of adjustable straps and pelvic swings that can be adjusted to suit any body size and constitution.
